Content Manager

Test and Target is a tool that allows us to show different content to users based on certain criteria, then evaluate their behavior based on what content they saw. You can perform A/B tests in which we compare single changes against each other, or you can perform multivariate tests that compare multiple changes in different arrangements against each other.

The criteria for entry, called Targeting, may range from a simple percentage of users to their referring search engine, previous purchase status, or geographical location. After a user qualifies for a test, we can report on their behavior in a variety of ways.

Because Test and Target is an Omniture product, it can integrate with Site Catalyst easily via a T&T plugin (additional cost may apply. Please check with your account manager for more details). You can use metrics already implemented for Site Catalyst, like registrations and store orders, as success metrics in Test and Target.

You can also report on a product’s success among individual segments, like users from Google, new visitors, or users who have already converted. The technology is based off mboxes, which are wrappers that go around the content to be tested. When the page is rendered, Test and Target looks up the new content to be rendered in that mbox and displays it to the user if appropriate. Even if there is no content or the user does not fit the criteria, the lookup counts as a request
